I moved to Allegany County from Baltimore in 1992, initially living in the outskirts of Frostburg and now residing in Cumberland. I have established roots in Western Maryland, marrying and raising two boys.
I have over 30 years of experience as a lawyer. Although, practicing mainly in Allegany County, I have significant experience handling cases Washington and Garrett Counties and have handled cases in most of the counties of the State of Maryland.
My experience as City Solicitor for the City of Cumberland and City Attorney for the City of Frostburg involves handling a wide variety of matters, including real estate acquisition and sale transactions, tax sales, complex document/contract drafting, general civil litigation, personal injury case evaluation and representation, legal guidance and advice, and negotiations in various contexts. Combined with my private practice, I have the skills you need to protect you and advance your interests.
I am cognizant of the fact that many clients are coming to see a lawyer for the first time or they are facing challenges that cause them anxiety. I treat them with a mix of compassion, empathy, professionalism and (oftentimes) humor so as to ease their tensions and provide them with the assurance that they will have the representation they require. I have learned that there is more to being a lawyer than dressing up to play the part.
My approach involves assessing the needs of a client and working to resolve conflicts in a manner that is acceptable to all concerned. If that isn’t possible, I will handle your case with the the tenacity and the level of intensity the situation requires. Different circumstances call for different tactics.
I look forward to putting my experience to work for you.
